Historic Downtown Wilmington

First Presbyterian Church, 3rd and Orange Streets, established 1785, first three buildings burned down, this building built 1928















St. James Episcopal Church at 3rd and Market Streets, established 1729, original building torn down and reconstructed in 1839





Henrietta III Riverboat docked at Water and Market Streets. The original Henrietta cruised the Cape Fear River from 1818 to 1858. The Henrietta III has been in service since 2000.


Cape Fear Memorial Bridge at 3rd and Castle Streets
spanning the Cape Fear River, constructed 1969. A steel vertical-lift bridge, currently the highest bridge in North Carolina and features a lift span that can be raised 135 feet.
